[Character name] Rikku
[Age] 17
[Canon] Final Fantasy X/X-2
[Point in time taken from canon] Post X-2
[Background] "Hey, I got an idea, we can be your friendly neighborhood Gullwings."
[Personality]
Rikku is an energetic girl. She's friendly and cheerful, with a bubbly attitude towards the world. She's rather excitable, much like other girls her age. She's happy to be alive, and she's going to live life to the fullest. If you're not happy, then she's going to take the responsibility to try and make you happy, which is frequently. She's also very child-like, calling people meanies or making up her own worlds. She's a determined girl. She's quick to be happy, or quick to be angered, basically quick to any emotion. She's that bouncy teenager everyone thinks its irritating. She does, however, think that being strong and quiet is super cool, just like Lulu. She wishes she was like that some times, like Lulu or Yuna, but she knows she won't be.
She's also bit of a drama queen, especially if things don't go as plan or she gets scared. She'll try to keep an upbeat attitude if things go awry, but even happy girls get a bit depressed. It won't take too long to cheer her back up though, and it'll be like she wasn't even upset in the first place. She likes to flirt a bit too, but serious relationships are a bit too big for her right now. She's still young, and she still wants to play around. She's very playful, ready to tease or prank her friends.
She's not just some vapid blond though. Deep down, she has a strong sense of fair play and justice, and will not hesitate to point out that someone's wrong. She's quite loyal to her friends and her family, and will try to protect them at all costs. But protection really isn't limited to just the people she cares about. She doesn't like to see other people in pain, even if she doesn't like them. It's the basis for her going along with the rest of the Al Bhed when they kidnapped the summoners. Just the thought of her doing nothing while other people sacrifice themselves for the greater good sickens her. She'd be the first person to jump up and help try and save the world.
Because of this, she had a hard time sitting still. She can't just stand still either - she's usually bouncing from one foot to the other. She has to be right in the middle of things or fixing things to keep her occupied. Even if it does blow up in her face. If things do break, however, she'll be the first person who fixes it, whether it's mechanical or psychological. She's a brilliant mechanic, having no problems with taking apart machines and putting them back together to see if she can get it working. She's also not beyond trying to help fix her friend's problems. She might be a little bit clumsy about it, but that's part of her charm.
[Abilities] Rikku is a brilliant mechanic, and an alchemist. She also comes equipped with a Garment grid, which allows her to harness the ability of dresspheres. Dresspheres allow Rikku to essentially switch jobs mid battle. During battle, a sphere-change can be used at any time to switch the current dressphere. This is done to gain extra abilities from the Garment grid, and to activate the special dressphere, as well as to switch to a different job more suited for the enemy. Rikku will be coming with three [3] dresspheres.
Thief/Default: This is Rikku's default dressphere. It allows her to steal items from enemies. It allows her to have high speed, agility, and pretty good luck. More details are here.
Alchemist: Like Rikku's overdrive from the original game, the Alchemist dressphere allows the user to use several items from a limitless "stash" and mix items together to make stronger ones. More details are here.
Machina Maw: Machina Maw is Rikku's special dressphere, and is her most powerful one. It is a large salvaged machina that she rides and bombards her enemy with attacks. More details on this are here.
[Other important stuff] Rikku can also speak Al Bhed, which is the language of her people. She also suffers from astraphobia, the fear of lightning. She has overcome it by spending a week camping out in the Thunder Plains. She also has a fear of snakes.
[Sample post]
[First Person]
- What do you think of your home world?
Spira? It's a lot better than it was before, with Sin being gone and all. Things are being rebuilt, and no one has to sacrifice themselves anymore.
- Do you stand up against authority, go against all odds, and if you could, pierce the heavens with your fighting spirit? If not, would you if you could?
Of course! I'm not gonna stand by while some bad guy tries to start something! Done it before, gonna do it again!
- Your country is in the middle of a war. What do you think of it? Do you support it or try to solve it yourself by going on an epic quest? Explain.
Huh. I've gone through this before. Against Sin. I didn't believe in any of it, and I still don't. But I supported Yunie when she went on her pilgrimage, even if I didn't like it. I'd help solve it, with my friends, of course!
- You have two options: either save your friend who is hanging from a cliff, or chase after the bad guy who put them in a position. If you choose the former, the bad guy will get away and it will be hard to catch him. If you choose the latter, the cliff will crumble and the friend will fall to the spiky rocks below. What do you do and why?
Too easy! Of course I'd save my friend. Who wouldn't? We can always get the bad guy in the end. I'd never want to lose my friend.
- Would you consider yourself a well traveled person? If so, what are some of your favorite places? If not, would you want to travel or is there some place you want to go?
Well traveled? sure? I've gone all over Spira with Yunie and the others, so we've had a chance to explore a lot of cool places. I used to hate the Thunder Plains - I blame totally blame Brother for that, by the way - but they're kind of neat. Luca's pretty awesome too, and the Calm Lands!
- You are suddenly told you are the child of an ancient prophecy to save the world. How do you feel? Will you embark on your journey? Or would you rather shove it onto someone else and run away? Explain.
Ancient Prophecy? Me? Nuh-uh! I can't do that! That's totally Yunie's job! It would be totally dissasterrific if I had to do it!
[Third Person]
Rikku and Paine followed the Yuna impersonator down the stairs, running at top speed. As "Yuna" rounded the corner, Rikku stopped, stomping her feet. "Hold still!"
Now they had to chase this girl and fight her thugs just to get to her! The nerve! This was supposed to be an easy operation! They were just going to sneak into the concert, grab the sphere grid from the thief, and head back outside to give it to Yunie. Plain and simple. It never seemed to be simple with them though.
"Outta my way!" Rikku's double daggers sliced through the first of the goons, while Paine's sword got through the next couple with deadly precision.
"Move!" She heard her friend forcefully say. Paine was never one to talk too much - the silver-haired girl reminded her of Lulu in that sense. She looked up to the Black Mage, and now she considered Paine a close friend. It was times like this that they banded together as a group and fought to get something that was rightfully theirs back.
She was totally going to kick this impostor's butt from Luca to Zanarkand for taking Yuna's Garment Grid. Shinra had made that for them, fair and square, and this crazy lady had no right to take it.
After the last set of thugs went down, Rikku stopped running again, taking in a deep breath. "Hey! You run too fast!"
"You run too slow, little girl."
"Show's over! Bwahahaha!"
Rikku's nose wrinkled. "Yeouch."
Another fight, she knew it. These guys looked worse than the other ones they had fought.
"This way." Paine motioned her off to the side down a long open corridor. Brandishing her dual blades again, Rikku waited.
[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] I thought she'd be a welcomed addition to the Final Fantasy cast here. XD
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] Be nice to other players, obviously!
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] I play at this awesome place!
[Any questions?] None!
